Douglas County Community Mental Center Foundation Board of Directors:
The CMHC Foundation funds directly impact patients and clients by providing flexible resources for use across the continuum of care. These contributions enhance and enrich the care provided, paying for items that are not provided by the county. Foundation dollars have been used in a variety of ways, tailored to the individual patient and client needs. Examples include providing haircuts, clothing, basic household items, medication costs and bus tickets for transportation. The Foundation also supports Peer Support engagement efforts, the Patient Advisory Committee, and therapeutic community outings such as bowling and baseball games for Day Treatment patients. Medication funding support is provided to those in need of assistance with co-pays and other drug costs.
The Jason Fund, which is part of the CMHC Foundation, was created after receiving a memorial donation from the family of a former patient. The Jason Fund exclusively provides medication funding support to those in need of assistance with co-pays and other drug costs. Ongoing fundraising is done throughout the year to keep this program viable.
